On the ballot along with the choices for United States President, State House District 20 and U.S. Congressman is the Senate District 43 seat. Looking to replace outgoing Senator Jessica Garvin (R-Duncan) is Republian Kendall Sacchieri of Blanchard and Democrat Sam Graefe of Dibble.
Kendal Sacchieri
Sacchieri currently serves as assessor in McClain County. Sacchieri said she is a fierce conservative champion with a dedication to transparency, fiscal responsibility, community service, and fighting for traditional values.
“Throughout my life, I have been guided by conservative principles and a commitment to loving the Lord and serving others,” Sacchieri said. “I believe in transparency, accountability, and putting the needs of the middle-class taxpayer first.
“As your Senator, I will fight tirelessly to uphold these values and ensure that liberty and freedom remain within reach for all Oklahomans.”
Sacchieri said she will bring principled leadership to the Senate.
Sacchieri said she ran for McClain County Assessor in 2018 driven by a desire for transparency and responsiveness to taxpayers’ concerns. She said her tenure has been marked by technological innovation, a steadfast commitment to fiscal responsibility and educating her taxpayers on all things Ad Valorem.
Sacchieri said grassroots conservatives asked her to challenge incumbent Senator Jessica Garvin. After successfully defeating Garvin in the Primary Election, Sacchieri said she differs from Garvin.
Sacchieri said she believes illegal aliens should be removed from the country, and that they should not be given licenses to drive or provided any other taxpayer-funded incentives. She said she stands firm against medical tyranny, and she said she will never compromise on the Right to Bear Arms.
Sacchieri and her family are residents of Blanchard. She and her husband, Ray, are active members of the Dibble Free Will Baptist Church, where she has served in the nursery and taught Sunday school. The Sacchieris have 3-year-old twin boys, Sam and Denver, and an 11-month-old, Huck.
Sacchieri said she is deeply invested in securing a bright future for Oklahoma’s children.
Sam Graefe
Graefe is the former vice chair of the McClain County Election Board. Graefe said serving as a County Election Board member and Conservation District Director was a natural fit for a retired natural gas manager and engineer.
Issues important to Graefe include conservation of natural resources and adapting to Climate Change. Graefe lives in Dibble, where he enjoys the Dibble Senior Center and attends Methodist and United Church of Christ churches.
Graefe said his campaign is based on four messages. These include public education, infrastructure, everyday living, and his being a consensus conservative.
He said, “My most important priority is to hold politicians like Ryan Walters accountable. We do not have enough officeholders who are willing to work hard with each other to ensure the checks and balances are obeyed by every politician.”
Graefe said rural schools are being targeted by an agenda to replace public schools with private schools.
Graefe said Main Street and workforce development as well as diversifying the Oklahoma economy are critical to preserving the way of life in Oklahoma.
Graefe said the political rhetoric and activities of many of Oklahoma’s elected officials is out of hand.
“We need to calm things down and build consensus. I’ve observed the power of consensus in the business world to find solutions that work for people,” Graefe said.
Graefe said he will serve people; not the agendas of politically powerful operatives.
