There’s still time to take part in the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce Pumpkin Decorating Contest. The “spooktacular time” started Monday but continues through tomorrow (Friday).
A Chamber official said voting is underway at area businesses for the best pumpkin displays. They ask that you visit participating businesses and cast your votes.
The top three winners will be presented and then voted on again at Haunt the Park in Veterans Park on Saturday, October 26. The Grand Prize winner will be announced later that evening. To vote, check out a list of the participating businesses at www.NewcastleOK.org.
“Visit each location, admire the pumpkins, and cast your vote,” the Chamber spokesperson said. “You can cast your votes by texting the Chamber phone at 405-387-3232.”
The spokesperson said if you make a purchase at one or more of the participating businesses, you’ll be entered into a drawing for some holiday prizes.
“By voting, you’re not only helping to crown the pumpkin champions, but also you are supporting local businesses,” the spokesperson said. “Remember, shop local, support local — together we make our community thrive.”
The pumpkins to be judged will be part of a display. They are uncarved. The top three entries will be displayed at Haunt the Park for final voting. The contest and the prizes are sponsored by Pioneer Co-op.
