Individuals recognized for their performances included kicker Bryan Medrano. He was named special teams player of the game. On offense, lineman Blake Allen got the nod, while defensive back Kaden Longman was named defense player of the game.
Cody Nix and Nic Lozano were noted for their knockdowns, and Zach Cragg was named Sledgehammer award winner.
Next up for Newcastle is a trip Friday to Lawton to take on Lawton MacArthur. Both teams are 3-0 in District 5A-1 play, according to Brickman, and the team hopes to have a big showing by the fans.
Lawton comes off a Thursday night win against Midwest City, 36-28. They’ve also had wins against Duncan and Classen.
