Newcastle Racer Fast-Pitch was scheduled to play in the Chickasha Tournament Friday and Saturday with three games on Friday, but participation in Homecoming took priority.
Head Coach Mike Crossley said the Racers had seven girls who were participating in Homecoming festivities throughout the day so the tournament games were cancelled.
Crossley said Regionals was moved to Wednesday through Thursday this week. The Racers, who are hosting the tournament, are the number one-seed. They played number four-seed Anadarko at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
Number two-seed Sulphur played Mount Saint Mary at 2 p.m. The winners of the first two games play at 4 p.m. They’ll come back Thursday with games at 10 a.m. and noon, and then a third, if necessary, at 2 p.m.
The Racers have won 19 of their last 22 games, and played Little Axe on Monday and Elgin on Tuesday. They are scheduled to play Edmond North on Saturday at the Oklahoma Christian School tournament.
