With March just getting underway, it’s not too early to think about the City of Newcastle Easter Egg Event on Saturday April 1 (no foolin’) at Veterans Park.
While the egg hunt starts at 2 p.m. sharp, according to Parks and Recreation Director Kyle Marks, there are several activities which will be held immediately after the egg hunt. These include free hot dogs, pony rides, moon bounces, a petting zoo, candy- and toy-filled eggs, train rides, games, prize eggs, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny.

CITYWIDE GARAGE SALE APRIL 27-29 The City of Newcastle Annual Citywide Garage Sale will be April 27, 28, and 29 this year.
Registration is online, so by signing up you’ll be added to the Citywide Garage Sale Interactive Map. City Parks and Recreation Director Kyle Mark said this way bargain hunters know how to find you. He added that only your address will be used on the map, not your name or other information. Deadline for signup is April 19.
During the Citywide sale, the City’s regular $10 garage sale fee is waived, so this is your chance to sponsor your own sale for free, Marks said.
