Royal-Themed Garden Party for children benefits libraries; McNally says mission is to support literacy, love for learning

The Pioneer Library System Foundation invites the community to the second annual Royal Games, a garden party for children, on Thursday, October 3, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Hillside Manor in Goldsby. This whimsical event will raise funds to support programming and services in the Pioneer Library System’s McClain County branches while providing a fun-filled evening for families to enjoy.

Special guests, including the beloved fairytale character Rapunzel and the notorious Captain Hook, will be on hand to mingle with the children and create memorable moments. Families can look forward to activities such as painting, archery, storytime, croquet, a petting zoo, and more.

The PLS Mobile Maker Lab will also be on-site to help children create a souvenir to take home. Guests are encouraged to wear royal or medieval attire. Refreshments will be available throughout the event, including light snacks, drinks, and treats fit for royalty.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy an evening of fun and imagination while also enhancing the programs and services offered by our libraries,” said Jeannette McNally, foundation board member.

She said, “Our mission is to support literacy and a love of learning throughout PLS communities, and the funds raised from this event will help us continue to enhance educational resources and activities

for children and adults

alike.”

Tickets are $10 per child, including admission for two caregivers, and can be purchased online at plsfdn.org. Proceeds will benefit PLS libraries in Blanchard, Newcastle, and Purcell by expanding programming and enhancing community services.

“We are thrilled to provide children and families with a delightful evening filled with interactive fun, all while making a meaningful impact,” expressed Will Merrick, foundation development officer. “This event perfectly blends enjoyment, family time, and giving back.

“Our libraries play a vital role in our communities, and events like this play a key part in securing their invaluable services for future generations.”
