This month’s Newcastle Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Spotlight is Jayna Kinnamon. She is the owner of River Stone Ranch Kennels.
Kinnamon is also currently renovating two Newcastle homes for Jericho Young Mothers Home and Zarephath Residential Assisted Living.
She also leads an Embrace Grace Support Group at Woodland Hills Baptist Church for single women who are experiencing unplanned pregnancy. She said she is a private money lender and she can aid individuals in setting up a trust and their own private banking system. She says this way, you can keep more of your money.
Jayna has been married to her husband, Steve, for 33 years. They have four married children and three grandchildren. River Stone Ranch Kennels has been in business for three years.
The services they offer are dog boarding and doggie daycare. but they also board cats and rabbits.
“We do not have any employees, but I do have volunteers who help me with various things from time to time,” she said.
Something cool about Jayna is that back in the day, she was a wrangler and worked out Arabian race horses.
Her advice to new business owners is to find a good CPA before opening your doors. She said it needs to be one who is an expert on small business deductions so you can keep more of the money you earn.
Originally she became a chamber member to let everyone know about her and her business in Newcastle, but now it is because she has found a group of like-minded friends to hang out with that she enjoys being with and working with.
“When I am not working, I like to spend my time with my family and my Great Pyrenees,” she said.
Kinnamon said she would love to keep your fur friend at their facility, or chat with you about the ministries “I have been called to provide,” she said.
