Newcastle retail down in August

The September report from the Oklahoma Tax Commission was recently sent out and reflects returns of tax dollars sent to area municipalities for business done in August.

Retail and Use taxes returned to the City of Newcastle indicate that sales were down for the monthly period when compared to the same month the year before.

McClain County also showed a decrease from the September 2024 report when compared to the September 2023 report.

Purcell, Byars, Cole, Goldsby, Lexington, Lindsay, Noble, Norman and Pauls Valley all saw gains over 2023. At the same time, Blanchard, Maysville, Wanette, Washington, Wayne, Paoli, Slaughterville and McClain County were among those that saw lower returns than last year.
