It’s time to go fly a kite.
Newcastle Parks and Recreation has again planned it’s Kites & Bites event. This year’s activity is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday (September 7) at Veterans Park, 705 N.W. 10th Street.
Everyone is invited to attend and you can bring your own kite, or free kites will be available for kids while supplies last.
Kyle Marks, director of Parks & Recreation, said, “Come early and enjoy a day of kite flying and delicious bites. Perfect for all ages.”
Marks said there will be food trucks with plenty of options available, and music playing.
Marks added that last year’s event had approximately 249 kites given out to participants.
