Mid-America Technology Center (MATC) has once again proven its commitment to educational excellence, receiving its 17th OkACTE Gold Star award at the 2024 Oklahoma Summit Conference. This prestigious accolade, awarded by the Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology Education (OkACTE), is a testament to the center’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards in career and technology education.
The Gold Star program is designed to recognize technology center districts that have met rigid and demanding criteria, demonstrating a high level of excellence.
It provides recognition to districts with exemplary programs designed to meet a broad spectrum of community needs.
The Gold Star recognition is based on one year, from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023. To receive the award, the technology center must meet a comprehensive set of criteria in seven standards: Program Standards, Student Services, Communications and Marketing, Sending School Relationships, Professional Activities, Business and Industry Services, and Special Initiatives. When evidence is provided that these standards have been met or exceeded, this establishes the technology center as being exceptional in service to its technology center area. As MATC continues to innovate and expand its programs, this latest Gold Star award serves as a reminder of the center’s dedication to excellence in education and community service.
