A fall Walk the Trail week is underway in Newcastle with area residents invited to Veterans Park to support healthy living.
City Parks & Recreation Director Kyle Marks said, “Join us for an exciting week of fitness. From August 26 to September 1, lace up your sneakers, hop on your bike, or hit the pavement for a walk or run — it’s all about getting active and enjoying the outdoors.”
Here’s how the activity, sponsored by Norman Regional Health System, works:
• Track your walking, running, or biking activities throughout the week. You can link to a printable log at: https://newcastleok.gov/ services/parks-and-recreation/ events/walk-the-trail.
• Submit your activity logs by Monday, September 2. Go to https://www.cognitoforms. com/CityOfNewcastle1/ ActivityTrackingLog to submit logs.
• Stay tuned as the City of Newcastle draws for the first Walk the Trail winner on September 3.
“Let’s get moving and make strides toward a healthier lifestyle together,” Marks said, adding that residents can keep an eye on the Parks & Recreation social media for more updates and challenges on Walk the Trail.
