NHS athletic event ticketing going all digital this year

Entry into athletic events in Newcastle has gone digital this year, and Athletic Director Brent Hodges said ticketing is going to be very different.

Entry into athletic events in Newcastle has gone digital this year, and Athletic Director Brent Hodges said ticketing is going to be very different.

“We did some events last year, but this year we are going almost all digital,” he said. “We will still have a cash option or a credit card option on site, for those who can’t use the app online.”

Hodges said Newcastle Schools is one of the only schools in the area that had not gone to full digital ticketing. He said this option has already been in use at Blanchard, Tuttle, Moore and Norman. Newcastle has also been the lowest cost for tickets, so this too will change.

Tickets will be purchased online through gofan.com, and while ticket prices are increasing, there will be more options available.

Football ticket prices online will be $8, or they can be obtained for $10 cash at the gate. There will also be 260 reserved season tickets available. All non-football events are $3 online. The school will continue to accept all passes including OSSAA, press passes, and military IDs.

There also will be seasonal passes available for fall, winter and spring sports seasons. Hodges said this is a good value for families. To purchase tickets online, go to gofan.com and plug in Newcastle High School. There you will find tickets available for fast-pitch softball and for the Blanchard-Newcastle away football game. Events are still being added.

Hodges said another exciting offering by Newcastle Public Schools is a fan app through FanX. This app, as it gets underway, will have score updates on Newcastle athletic events. There will be social media accounts available, Rank 1 for students, sports schedules, articles and video from area media, links to tickets and a fan store, and game day guides.

It also will have an instant messaging feature to those who are in a geofence area which will be used by the school to communicate to Newcastle fans any latebreaking information. For instance, Hodges said if there is a weather delay, the school can communicate when the game is expected to resume.

There are advertising opportunities available from Newcastle Athletics for those who want to show their support for the students and the community.

Hodges said he would love to talk with anyone who is interested in being affiliated with the program through sponsorships. Email Hodges at brent.hodges@newcastle. k12.ok.us.
