Athletic attendee guidelines outlined for Newcastle Sports facilities; no reentry after exiting the facility

Spectators at Newcastle Athletic events will have to meet certain guidelines and expectations as they cheer on their Racers.

Spectators at Newcastle Athletic events will have to meet certain guidelines and expectations as they cheer on their Racers.

As noted in last week’s issue of the Newcastle Pacer, everyone entering a Newcastle facility will go through a weapons detector.

This change was made after a shooting last year at a Choctaw High School football game.

There will be no re-entry once a fan or spectator has exited the facility.

Loitering will not be tolerated. Students and children are expected to sit in the stands.

Students will be restricted to their home or visitor side of the arena.

Failure to meet these expectations will result in the removal from the event and from future events.

Bags necessary for approved medical equipment are permitted.

The school says if you see something say something.

The following items are prohibited:

• Weapons, including guns or knives, are not allowed on Newcastle Public Schools’ property.

• All bags must be clear.

• Backpacks, purses, oversized bags, or drawstring bags.

• Sporting equipment such as balls or basketballs.

• Outside food or beverage with the exception of clear water bottles.

• Tobacco, alcohol, or drugs of any type.

• Pets, with the exception of service animals with documentation.

• Ice chests, coolers or containers.

• External sound systems, speakers, etc.
