Mid-America Technology Center’s Business and Industry Services (BIS) department is excited to announce the upcoming EMT Basic class.
This comprehensive course started August 6 and runs through December 7, with classes held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday, and two Saturdays each month.
The EMT Basic course offers extensive classroom training covering crucial areas such as: Anatomy, Physiology, Patient Assessment. and Trauma Care.
In addition, students will gain hands-on experience through clinical shifts conducted offsite, providing real- world applications of classroom knowledge.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be prepared to take the psychomotor and written national registry examinations, which are essential for obtaining licensure as an EMT. To enroll in the EMT Basic class, students must meet the following prerequisites:
• Submission of inoculation records.
• First Hepatitis B vaccination before the start of class.
• Flu shot within the first four weeks of the course.
Additional requirements include:
• Students must be at least 18 years old.
• The purchase of clinical uniforms is the responsibility of the student.
• Participants will undergo current drug screening and background checks.
