Suzanne “Suzie” Renee (Steger) Gordon, age 67, of Newalla, Oklahoma, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 29, 2024.

Suzanne “Suzie” Renee (Steger) Gordon, age 67, of Newalla, Oklahoma, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 29, 2024.

Suzie, the daughter of John Charles Steger Sr. and Patsy Joyce (Cotter) Steger of Newcastle, was born in Sherman, Texas, on February 23, 1957.

She attended her first year of grade school at St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Oklahoma City. The family then moved to Newcastle where she spent the remainder of her school days and graduated in 1975. She attended Rose State College before starting her career at Tinker Air Force Base, and retired as a Lead Production Management Specialist in 2016.

Suzie and her former husband, Michael Gene Gordon, had one daughter, Molly, who was the light of her life. She and Molly shared a love for travel, going to the theater, and trying out new restaurants every chance they got.

The happiest times in her life came with the birth of her grandson, Ian, and again upon recently learning she would soon be grandmother to a baby girl. Suzie was an avid reader, enjoyed watching movies, and was passionate in learning more about her family’s history and genealogy. She has always loved working in her flower garden and learned about horticulture after joining 4-H in school alongside her best friend Rebecca Lynn (Fletcher) Turner.

Suzie was loved by so many and her sudden loss will be felt forever. She was preceded in death by: her father, John Charles Steger Sr. and brother, Anthony (Tony) Eugene Steger.

Suzie is survived by: her daughter, Molly Mackenzie (Gordon) Vukusich and husband J. Logan Vukusich of San Antonio, Texas, and stepdaughter Angela Mae (Gordon) O’Brien of Oklahoma Cityl; her grandson, lan Grant Vukusich and a granddaughter (on the way) of San Antonio, Texas; her mother, Patsy Joyce (Cotter) Steger of Newcastle; a brother, John Charles Steger Jr. and wife Della of Newcastle; a sister, Sharon Lee (Steger) Hendrickson and husband, Brad Hendrickson of Newcastle; many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services were held at Vondel Smith Mortuary at South Lakes at 11 a.m. Monday August 5, 2024, and burial followed at Newcastle Memorial Gardens.
