Victory Family Church will be serving Norman Public Schools and the surrounding communities at its annual Back to School Event!
Back to School is a local outreach event that will be occuring on August 3. This year, 300-plus volunteers from Victory Family Church will be coming together to perform acts of service for several elementary schools throughout the Norman community and area including Newcastle.
Volunteers will meet at the church at 9 a.m. on Saturday for a rally before dispersing throughout the Norman area. Once volunteers arrive on site, they will be working from 10 a.m. - noon helping these schools with classroom setup, teacher lounge updates, gardening work, organizing, and cleaning.
A Victory Family Church spokesperson said, “At our campus located at 4343 N. Flood Ave. in Norman, we will be offering free sports physicals, haircuts, backpacks, and school materials while supplies last.
The event starts onsite at 10 a.m. and is first come, first served.”
She said serving the community is a calling that church members feel has been placed on their hearts.
“This day will be a testimony to our passion for positively impacting the lives of those who live closest to us. We are motivated and wildly obsessed with unconditionally loving people, and we hope that this day will be representative of our commitment to making a difference,” she said.
“At Victory Family Church, we are family. We want to communicate the love of God to all people, races, cultures, and generations,” she said.
