Chickasaw Crossing gains approval after discussions between City, developer

After tabling action on the Chickasaw Crossing development at the June City Council meeting because of water pressure concerns in the area, City staff and the developer sat down to work out a compromise.

After tabling action on the Chickasaw Crossing development at the June City Council meeting because of water pressure concerns in the area, City staff and the developer sat down to work out a compromise.

Mayor Karl Nail said they were able to do so and the two will be partnering on upgrading the booster station in the area. Furthermore, the developer has agreed to put in other improvements such as running a 12” water line along the southern edge of their property, Nail said, which will fit in with the City’s long-term goal of a 12” line on either side of the development.

In a separate comment, Nail said work on Eunice Street is complete.

“It took a lot of money and it turned out amazing,” he said. “These are the types of things we have to do. I hope the citizens felt it was worth the wait.”

The City rebuilt Eunice Street and installed concrete drainage aprons (related photo on page 4).
