Infant dead after incident at ATV Park on South Canadian River

A fatality collision at the South Canadian River took the life of an 8-month-old male and left a 2-year-old in critical condition at OU Children’s Hospital.

A fatality collision at the South Canadian River took the life of an 8-month-old male and left a 2-year-old in critical condition at OU Children’s Hospital.

According to a report by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Shayne Ballard, Kendra Mann, 31 of Newalla, was driving a 2022 Polaris Ranger at 4:04 p.m. Sunday at Happy Trails ATV Park and the river, approximately one mile west of Norman in Cleveland County when the incident occurred. Ballard states that the incident is under investigation.

His report shows five passengers in the Polaris Ranger including Kelsey Drummer, 26, of Newalla. She was not injured in the incident. Two of the passengers were also from Newalla, a six-year-old male, and a 3-year-old female, and they were not injured.

A 2-year-old male of Newalla was transported by EMSTAT to OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City with internal head injuries. He was admitted in critical condition.

The 8-month-old male was transported by EMSTAT to Norman Healthplex, where he was pronounced deceased.

Ballard was assisted by the Norman Police and Fire, and Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.
