The McClain County Oklahoma Home Community Education will once again sponsor the Quilt Block Challenge at the McClain County Fair. Quilt Block kits are currentlyavailableattheMcClainOSUExtension office, 172 Hardcastle Blvd. St. A, Purcell.
The cost of the quilt block kit is $6. All entrants must use only the four fabrics contained in the kit.
Constructed quilts blocks are to be entered in the McClain County Fair on Tuesday, September3,2024;2p.m.–7p.m.Winners will be chosen by viewers’ choice, with voting during the McClain County Fair September 3 -7, 2024. Premiums will be sponsored by McClain County OHCE.
Quilt blocks entered in the fair become the property of McClain County OHCE, in the creation of the 2025 quilt which will be auctioned at the conclusion of the 2025 fair.
Raffle tickets for the 2024 quilt are available at the McClain County OSU Extension Office or from any county club member from Stealey, Washington, and ECHO, Blanchard/Newcastle groups. The drawing for the quilt will be held at the conclusion of the fair on September 7 in the Mc-Clain County Farm and Home building. You do not have to be present to win.
