The OERB hosted a First Responder Training workshop at the OSU Fire Service Training Center in Stillwater to educate firefighters about the best practices in developing a response plan for oil and natural gas sites.
Attending from the Newcastle area were: Michael Cain, Tuttle; Derek Claytor, Newcastle; Cooper Compton, Bridge Creek; Brandon Culp, Newcastle; Jackson Greenwood, Blanchard; Dakota Head, Tuttle; William Lemons, Blanchard; Jacob Martin, Newcastle; Bryce Milligan, Blanchard; Jamie Oaklee, Blanchard; Kevin Shepard, Washington; Chayce St. John, Blanchard; and Jordan Wyatt, Bridge Creek.
The two-day training was taught by oil and natural gas professionals and OSU Fire Service Training staff. The course, which was provided at no cost to firefighters, mixes a classroom component and with hands-on live burn exercises.
The training for the course also fulfills the requirements needed for Firefighter II certification.
The free training is funded by the people of Oklahoma Oil & Natural Gas as a continued effort to be a good neighbor in communities where they live and work.
