The COOP Ale Works Beats & Bites Festival, which features live music, local food trucks and other family friendly entertainment, will return for a seventh year to Riverwind Casino this summer, kicking off on Saturday, May 27.

Additional events will take place on Saturdays throughout the summer: June 10, July 8 and August 26. The July 8 event will include a fireworks show.

“During its six-year run, the COOP Ale Works Beats & Bites Festival has established itself as a proven success,” said Justin Yahola, Riverwind Casino’s general manager. “It is a unique event on the area’s entertainment scene, with well-known music acts, delicious local food and fun for all ages. We had more than 20,000 people attend last year and with this year’s lineup, we hope to entertain more this summer.”

The May 27 Beats & Bites show will feature American classic rock bands 38 Special and Blue Öyster Cult, with local band Time Machine to serve as the opening act. American alternative-rock bands Gin Blossoms, Tonic and Soul Asylum each will play at the June 10 event.

Country music performers Mark Chesnutt, Shenandoah and Tracy Byrd will headline the July 8 event, with the concert to be followed by a fireworks show. Another country artist, Gary Allan, will play at the final 2023 Beats & Bites on Aug. 26, with the Jason Young Band as the opening act.

Nearly 20 food trucks will serve delicious fare at each event and other vendors also will be on-site. Vendors and food trucks that want to participate in this year’s festival should visit the Riverwind site and complete the vendor registration form. The deadline to register is March 19.

Tickets will be $10 per person for each event and can be purchased at Riverwind. com, the Showplace Theatre Box Office (after March 1) or on the day of the event. Box office hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday beginning March 1.

Gates will open for all four events at 5 p.m., one hour prior to showtime. The events will end at 10 p.m.
