Pioneer Cooperative members did not meet a quorum in an election Monday, April 15 at the Woodland Hills Baptist Church to elect a new Newcastle-area board of trustee member. Sixty people voted but about 110 were necessary.
Because there was no quorum, the decision goes back to the Board of Trustees to determine the next steps. They’ll have a meeting to further discuss on Thursday, May 9.
Local resident Gerald Elcyzyn and Jerry Petty, Jr. were vying for the seat which came open after Mary Petty, a trustee for the past 20 years, passed away last year.
Stacy Cline has been filling the seat temporarily.
