Softball headed to the District Tournament

Racer Baseball finishes regular season April 29

The Racers Slow Pitch Softball team had a 6-9 record going into a game with Dibble on Tuesday night, according to the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association, and then they play in the District Tournament.

The Racers are scheduled to play against Byng and Idabel today (Thursday) at Byng in the Class 5A OSSAA District Tournament.

Game 1 at 11 a.m. pits Newcastle versus Idabel in the two-and-out tournament. Byng will play the loser of that game, and then the winner of the game in game 3.

Game 4 will be the no-loss team versus the one-loss team.

Coach Ashley Filer said the Racers and their opponents are all about equal so the games should all be competitive.

Baseball concludes regular season April 29

Newcastle baseball added two big wins against Plainview Monday, both games by 15-1, to make their season record 22-6-1.

The Racers look to Elgin and Mt. Saint Mary on Friday and the Oklahoma City Knights on Saturday before taking on Lone Grove and Dibble on Monday, April 29 to conclude regular season play.

The Racers are currently 10-2 in District play and sit second just behind the Marlow Outlaws, 11-0.
