Newcastle-area voters will go to the polls June 18 to decide statewide candidates during the Oklahoma Primary Election.
At this same time there was supposed to be a County election, but there won’t be a ballot this year since only incumbents filed without opposition.
The following candidates had filed for public office by the end of the filing period last week.
United States Representative - Dist. 4 Republican - Tom Cole, Andrew Hayes, Paul L. Bondar, and Rick Whitebear Harris Democrat - Mary Brannon and Kody Macaulay Independent - James Stacy Corporation Commissioner
Libertarian - Chad Williams Republican - J. Brian Bingman, Justin Hornback, and Russell Ray Democrat - Harold D. Spradling State Senator - Dist. 43
Republican - Jessica Garvin and Kendal Sacchieri Democrat - Sam Graefe
State Rep. - District 20 Republican - Jonathan Wilk, Alivia Snow, Mike Fullerton, Mike Whaley, and Lonnie J. Burns Democrat - Mitchell Jacob
After only incumbents filed for their McClain County offices, no election will be held. Retaining offices are the following:
County Court Clerk Republican - Kristel D. Gray
County Sheriff Republican - Landy Offolter
County Clerk Republican - Pam Beller
Commissioner Dist. 2 Republican - Wilson R. Lyles
A runoff primary is scheduled for August 27 if needed, and then the General Election is November 5.
