Newcastle wife, mother and small business owner Alivia Snow has announced her candidacy for Oklahoma House District 20, which covers most of McClain and south Cleveland counties. Snow is a Republican.

“As state representative, I will be committed to preserving individual liberty, unleashing economic opportunity, ensuring public safety, and providing quality education for all students,” Snow said.

Snow and her husband, Jaye, live in Newcastle with their four children. Snow graduated from Bridge Creek and Jaye graduated from Newcastle. They attend Newcastle First Baptist and live on the same five acres they bought just after they were married 25 years ago.

Snow said she learned the value of hard work at an early age. Her dad worked at the Dayton Tire plant and was a small business owner. Her mom was a special education teacher for local schools. Snow’s first job was at age 16 working for the Newcastle Drug Store and flower shop. After that for several years, she worked in agriculture, driving a truck and trailer hauling pigs twice a week between Oklahoma, Iowa, and South Dakota.

Today, Snow is a local real estate investor and business developer. Through her commercial real estate company, she’s worked with dozens of business owners in the area to help get their businesses up and running and ensure their success.

Driven by her faith, Snow said she and her husband have been devoted to helping Oklahoma’s children. They have fostered more than 60 children and adopted two of their four children. To Snow, there is nothing more rewarding than the bond she shares with her kids.

Snow serves on the Newcastle Parks Board, is a member of the Newcastle High School Booster Clubs, and is a key supporter of Newcastle schools and athletic departments. Snow’s husband, Jaye, is a major with the Oklahoma City Fire Department with over 27 years of fire service.

Snow said she has several House District 20 residents who are supporting her campaign.

Jeramiah Walker, a certified nurse practitioner in Newcastle, said, “Alivia is a wonderful person. She will be a selfless leader. She is running for this office at great sacrifice to herself and has nothing to gain. She saw a need for better leadership and decided to step up. I’m voting for Alivia because she will be a leader that serves the people — not herself.”

Jeremy Freeman, pastor at First Baptist Church in Newcastle, said, “Alivia attends our church and has been a blessing to my family. I know she will boldly stand for the Christian values upon which our nation was founded.”

Representative Sherrie Conley, the current House District 20 representative, said, “Alivia will fight for our conservative values at the Capitol. She has the backbone to stand up and fight for our district — no matter what. We need more leaders like Alivia Snow in office.”

Dillard Cosby, owner of Ten Arrows Construction in Blanchard, said, “Alivia knows what hard work looks like. She owns and operates her own small business and knows what it takes to be successful. As the state representative, Alivia will keep our economy in mind. She will work against the current tax-and-spend agenda sending our country into recession and focus on good conservative policy.”

Jeff Brickman of Blanchard, who is a teacher and Head Football Coach at Newcastle High School, said, “I’ve known Alivia and her husband Jaye for many years. Over this time, Alivia has given thousands of dollars in donations to our school and community. If there’s a kid on the team who can’t afford shoes, or won’t have a ride for summer camp — we call Alivia.

“No one will work harder for our kids and teachers than Alivia. I’m proud to support her.”

The public is invited to Snow’s campaign kickoff party. It will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 15 at San Marcos Mexican Restaurant, 2161 N. Main Street in Newcastle. For more information visit SnowforHouse.com or call Snow at 405-613-2986.
