The Annual Newcastle Baseball Wood Bat Tournament gets underway with games today (Thursday) and continuing through Saturday.
This is a big weekend of baseball for the 16-3 Racers. Concessions will be open throughout the festival, according to organizers.
Thursday’s games are at 10 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 2:30 p.m, 4:45 p.m, and then at 7 p.m. when Newcastle takes on Bridge Creek.
On Friday, games will be the same time, but Newcastle is scheduled to play Harrah in the 4:45 p.m. game.
Saturday times are also the same, but Newcastle takes on Crossings Christian School in the 7 p.m. game.
The Racers have lost this year only to Noble, Tuttle and Blanchard. They had recent wins over MacArthur, 5-2, and Ardmore, 7-2 and 11-0; lost to Blanchard, 12-5; and then beat Ft. Cobb-Broxton, 7-4, and Chickasha, 6-0.
