Tri City Women in Action is planning a meeting at 7 p.m. today (Thursday) in the Newcastle Library. WIA is a group for progressive women with concerns for community and social issues. WIA is an offshoot of Norman’s Women in Action for All.
The group has concerns about public schools, equality in legislation and safe places to gather and share values. This week they will be following some of the proposed bills in the Oklahoma legislature. Last week several of the women helped at the Chili Cook-Off for the McClain County Democrats. Many of the WIA members thought they were the only non Republicans in their neighborhoods so they had a desire to meet together.
