Contractors working for the City of Newcastle are busy installing new smart meters. They started at the 1700 block of East Fox Lane, and will continue along Fox Lane before heading north of Fox Lane along Portland to NE 16th Street. The new devices will cut down time to read meters, and will allow the City to better detect leaks. The City says if you are unsure about a worker in your yard, call the water department at 405-387-4434 to verify.
