NHS prepares ‘You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown’ in March

Newcastle High School is announcing its firstever musical production, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Tams-Witmark LLC.

The public is invited to attend at 7 p.m. on March 28 and 29 or at 2 p.m. on March 30, all at Newcastle High School Auditorium, 101 N. Main Street.

Racer Choir teacher Sarah Stancil said the production features an ensemble of talented cast members. She said this musical adaptation is a heartwarming journey through the beloved “Peanuts” comic strip created by Charles M. Schulz. The production showcases the enduring charm and wit of Charlie Brown and his friends, bringing the iconic characters to life on stage.

Charlie Brown and the entire Peanuts gang explore life’s great questions as they play baseball, struggle with homework, sing songs, swoon over their crushes, and celebrate the joy of friendship.

Under the direction of Ms. Schmitz and Mrs. Stancil, the cast has been diligently preparing to deliver what they hope is an unforgettable performance.

The musical features book, music, and lyrics by Clark Gesner, with additional dialogue by Michael Mayer and additional music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and concessions are available during the performances on a cash-only basis.
