Nicholas Jacob fell in love with Newcastle during a trip to visit his brother, who lives in the area and attends law school at the University of Oklahoma. Nicholas came from Phoenix, Arizona, and finds much to admire about Newcastle, including that it is much quieter.
He moved here, and opened his business, Electrode Repairs at 1025 N. Main Street.
Jacob said he has a degree in cyber security, but finds that he prefers to do electronic repairs. After reaching out to Nano Repairs, Jacob learned that the Newcastle location was for sale. The previous owners said their second location had been doing a large amount of business, and they didn’t feel like they could handle both sites.
Jacob seized the opportunity to go into business in Newcastle. He said he bought the business and did a soft opening in August, before fully opening in September. The Newcastle Chamber of Commerce did a ribbon cutting on Friday during a Morning Mingle hosted by Jacob and Electrode Repairs.
He repairs most electronics, including phones, tablets, computers and laptops. He has repaired a toaster oven/ air fryer combination.
Jacob said he is one of nine children, having grown up in the Broken Arrow area. He was in the Marine Corps for five years, working in avionics while stationed in San Diego, California.
He now lives in the Wyndemere addition in Newcastle, and enjoyed biking to work until the recent cold weather hit the Newcastle area.
Jacob said business has been good up through January and he’s happy to be here.
