Several Newcastle wrestlers placed individually on the way to a first-place girls’ finish, and a second-place boys’ finish at the 50th Annual CPL Bryan Scripsick Memorial Tournament at Pauls Valley.
Trinity Duran was named Lower Weight Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament.
Placing first for the girls were: Duran (120), Addison Schuringa (125), Aundra Estrada (285). Placing fourth were: Tatum McDaniel (155) and Peyton Wolfe (170).
Racer boys placing first were: Gage Stark (113), Shane Lovejoy (170), and Nicholas Lozano (285). Placing second was Jace Pierce (106) and EZ Duran (144). Placing third was: Jaxon Mitchell (144). Fourth place finishers were: Ryan Trozzi (132) and Maddyx Snow (215).
Coach Zach Hale said it was a long weekend as the Friday night junior high matches lasted until after midnight.
