Jeff Dingee has had some changes in his life between being appointed as a Newcastle school board member, and taking on a new five-year term.

Dingee was appointed to Office #4 for Newcastle Public Schools Board of Education back on September 13, 2022. He was the sole filer for the seat after the December 7, 2023, filing period ended and will now serve a full five-year term beginning in the April 2024 meeting. We reported last week where Dingee worked after the 2022 appointment, but were unable to reach him at the time for any updates. Instead of holding on to the information, we chose to go ahead and publish the old information. We were wrong to do so.

Since then we’ve talked with Dingee and found that he now works for Boeing as a project manager. Furthermore, Dingee has achieved a new rank with the Oklahoma Air National Guard.

He was a Technical Sergeant, but is now a Master Sergeant.

We regret these errors and any inconvenience they may have caused.

The Pacer asked Dingee his outlook as he approaches a new term. Dingee said he believes Newcastle Public Schools has a good board in place, a good administration in place, and some good changes are being made. He was excited about this week’s groundbreaking celebration on the Newcastle Middle School addition, being paid for with school bond monies approved by the voters.

“It’s good to see the fruition of our works here,” Dingee said. “I want others to see what we are getting done.”

Dingee was most proud of the work being done to improve the school district. He added that he wants the school patrons to know the board is doing right by them and the taxpayer dollars.

“I want to make Newcastle a place where people want to come and utilize the school system,” Dingee said.

One thing Dingee said he would like the school to improve on its communication to the public.

“We have to face our communication problem,” he said. “We need to get information out to the patrons better and more efficiently.”

Dingee will now serve NPS Office #4 through 2027.
