A filing period is underway for candidates wanting to run for either the Newcastle Board of Education Place #4 or for Seat #5 of the Board of Education at Mid-America Technology Center.
Statutorily qualified individuals interested in running as a candidate for either of the board seats may file to run as a candidate at the McClain County Election Board between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, December 4 through Wednesday, December 6, 2023. The Newcastle Board of Education seat is open to those individuals who reside in the Place 4 boundaries. This is a 5-year term of office, school officials said.
