McClain County Commissioners approve budget transfers, equipment disposal

The Board of McClain County Commissioners convened for their regular session on Monday, November 6, 2023, at 8:16 a.m. in Room 111 of the McClain County Courthouse. Chairman Terry Daniel presided over the meeting and initiated proceedings.

County Clerk Deputy Rebekah Couch called the roll, confirming the presence of Chairman Terry Daniel, Vice Chairman Glen Murray, and Member Wilson Lyles.

The commissioners addressed transfers of appropriations, with approval of a $12,000 transfer from 12232-0400-2005 to 1223-2-04004110 for Sheriff Commissary.

Approval was also given for road crossing permits, with the commissioners unanimously supporting a permit for Bluefin Water Solutions, LLC, starting in Section 18, T7NR3W, and ending in Section 13, T7N4W in District Three.

Resolutions for disposing of equipment were passed, including items from the Treasurer’s and Sheriff’s office. Various file cabinets were marked for disposal.

Resolution No 16-2023-2024 was approved, accepting a donation of a ballistic vest to the McClain County Sheriff’s Office for the K9 Unit.

Representatives from The Seed Corporation, Kristina Manriquez, and Steve Kelly, provided updates on grant writing progress.

Maintenance and operation claims for the fiscal year 2023-2024 were approved out of various accounts. Some notable claims included signage expenses from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, and supplies for Emergency Management from Amazon.

November 13 County Meeting

In a regular meeting on Monday, November 13, 2023, the Commissioners approved claims for allocations for services, subscriptions, supplies, and fuel across various departments.

Noteworthy among the approved purchases was the acquisition of a used 2016 Fire Tanker from United Rentals through Sourcewell Contract #158632.

This purchase, amounting to $75,000, was specifically earmarked for the Dibble Fire Department.

Community Engagement and Planning: The commissioners resolved to advertise for election ballots and sixmonth bids.

Additionally, the allocation of Alcoholic Beverage Tax reflected considerations for community needs.
