Newcastle Elementary School has several activities planned for the next week including today’s food drive.
Food Drive underway The Elementary Food Drive started Monday and ends today (Thursday). All items collected will be distributed to help families in McClain County. Prizes are being awarded to the class bringing in the most items.
Suggested items include: canned tuna or chicken, rice and dry beans, cake mix, canned frosting, dressing or stuffing, canned ravioli, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, pasta sauce, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit, and cereal.
Veterans Music Program, 6:30 p.m. Thursday A Veteran’s Music Program is at 6:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday) at the Newcastle High School Auditorium. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.
Veterans and residents in the Newcastle community are invited.
Family Night Nov. 13 Newcastle Elementary Family Night is from 5:30 -7 p.m. Monday, November 13. The school plans a carnival, a food truck, free popcorn, a book fair, math and reading games, and prizes.
Book Fair and Lunch planned Nov. 13-15 Parents and guardians are invited to eat lunch with their elementary student and then shop the book fair on Monday, November 13, Tuesday, November 14, and Wednesday, November 15.
Monday is for you if your student is in one of the following classrooms: 2nd Bailes, Ward, Williams; 3rd, Adams, Calvert, Mowat; 4th - Gillespie, Hobbs, Roush; 5th Kelley, Kielich, Martin, and Oberlender.
Tuesday is for the classrooms of: 3rd - Copeland, Dawes, Hubble, Moore, Mowat, Parsons; 4th - Gilmore, Hayes, Kates, Lairson, Schwanke, and Williams.
Wednesday classrooms are: 2nd - Duncan, Lee, Matthews, Niles, Owens, Walker; and 5th Hearn, Hutcheson, Patterson, and Paxton.
Parents will need to check in at the upper elementary office prior to lunch.
