Sales and Use taxes returned to the coffers at the City of Newcastle continue to rise as the October report showed an increase of $82,869.33.
Newcastle’s .04¢ Sales and Use taxes are nearing the million dollar mark for the monthly report with this month’s coming in at $928,089.41. For comparison, the same month in 2022 had only $845,220.08.
The nearby communities of Blanchard and Goldsby showed a mix in their returns. Blanchard had a difference of $138,796.14 to the good from the previous year, while Goldsby had a loss of $40,030.61 from the same time the previous year.
Norman, Lindsay, Wayne and Noble were also slightly down on their sales tax returns compared to last year’s numbers.
