Adominant, 78-29, win hit the books for the Racers Friday night as they hosted the Classen School of Advanced Studies.
Coach Jeff Brickman said his Newcastle team executed well on offense, played strong on defense, and excelled in special teams.
The Racers forced five interceptions including a Jackson Bergt interception for a touchdown.
Newcastle put 22 points on the board in the first quarter, while allowing only one score for six points. The Racers added 28 points in the second quarter, 21 points in the third quarter, and another seven points in the fourth. They held Classen SAS until the fourth quarter, when the opponent scored 23 points.
Newcastle had six different players score touchdowns on the evening. Bergt was named offense player of the game, while Jalen Lane was named defense player of the game.
Rex Heskew notched another recognition on the year as most valuable player. Westin Morrison was special teams player of the game, Maddox Birdsong was recognized for the “pancake stick,” T.J. Bradford was recognized for the “hammer,” and Ryder Lewis was named practice player of the week.
The Racers next play at Tuttle Friday night. Coach Brickman said Tuttle has some great players who are well coached.
Brickman said, “We look forward to the opportunity to compete.”
Newcastle finishes its regular season at Bethany November 3.
