Chamber planning October Activities

True Sky, Capozi’s Pasta Shop ready to cut ribbons

Several activities are planned by the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce for the month of October including two ribbon cuttings for new businesses, a morning mingle and a luncheon.

Chamber members and area residents will gather at 9 a.m. Friday, October 13 at Wal Mart in Tri City for the Morning Mingle, then they will drive over later that day at 12:30 p.m. to True Sky Federal Credit Union, 761 N.W. 32nd Street, for a ribbon cutting.

True Sky has a big grand opening celebration planned for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, October 14 which will include free food, donuts, snow cones, face painting, balloon animals, a petting zoo, sports radio, and “astounding CD deals.”

A Multi-Chamber Business Bites networking lunch is planned from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 18 at Capozi’s Pasta Shop, 632 N.W. 32nd Street. Attendees can network and have lunch on their own. Capozi’s will also celebrate the Pasta Shop’s ribbon cutting at 12:30 p.m. that same day.

The monthly Chamber luncheon will be from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 24 at the Newcastle Library, 705 N.W. 10th Street. This luncheon is sponsored by Great Plains Kubota, and the public is invited to attend. Participants are asked to register online at the chamber’s website, https://newcastleok.org/.

Although not a Chamber activity, they join with the Newcastle Parks & Recreation in publicizing the Haunt the Trail activity from 4-7 p.m. October 28 at Veterans Park. According to City spokesperson Scott Hannan, those attending can eagerly anticipate a variety of booths teeming with delightful treats, enchanting tricks, engaging games, and delicious food bites.

Parks & Recreation Director Kyle Marks said, “While our primary audience is the children of Newcastle, we encourage everyone to come, dress up, and revel in the joyous spirit.”
