The Racers (5-1) made tracks on the field at Bridge Creek Friday night with a 40-3 win against the Bobcats (3-3).
Coach Jeff Brickman said on Newcastle’s first drive of the game, the Bobcats roughed the punter, and that led to the first score, igniting the team from there.
Brickman said the defense played extremely well, not allowing a Bridge Creek touchdown.
Newcastle scored 21 points in the first quarter, scored another touchdown and extra point in the second quarter, but allowed a Bridge Creek field goal. The Racers scored another six each in the third and fourth quarters, for the 40-3 victory.
Jackson Schanuel was recognized as the game’s Most Valuable Player. The defensive player of the game went to Ayden Elcyzyn, offensive player of the game went to TJ Bradford, and the special teams player of the game went to Jackson Bergt.
Best tackle of the game went to Grady Downing, and pancakes went to Jordan Provens-Thomas. Practice player for the week went to Tucker Brown.
The Racers play at Harrah tonight (Thursday) before fall break. Coach Brickman said they look forward to improving in practice this week.
